About THE ARTIST
J. Gregory Holzgrefe creates pattern and shadow with laser-cut stainless steel scraps found in a salvage yard. His work is part of personal collections in Virginia and Florida as well as corporate collections including Markel Corporation, Dominion Energy, Collier International, and Heartwood Wealth Advisors.
Greg, a life-long artist, began his metal work in college in a design studio class at the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies. In addition to being an artist, he is a licensed architect in Virginia specializing in historic and residential architecture. Current projects include the renovation of a plantation home, a home for the enslaved, and a former orphanage into a ten-room hotel. In 2018 he exhibited at the VisArts Craft and Design Show in Richmond, Virginia. Greg is the youngest of nine children and enjoys exploring the world with his wife and daughter.
